# The Connect page

> Where every app says what it can do and how to reach it.

<Note>
  **Platform features are currently in invite-only beta.** You can
  [sign up here](https://www.cordango.com/beta/) if you want to be considered for one of our next
  phases. The open foundation, meaning the CLI, the compiler and the standalone
  generator, is not part of the beta and is available now.
</Note>

Every app carries a **Connect** link in its header, beside "Make my own copy". It opens one page that
answers the two questions a person has when they want to use an app from anywhere other than the
browser: what can this app do, and what do I paste where.

## What it shows

**What you can do here.** Every entity you can read, and which of read, add, change and remove your
role allows on each, plus the app's own actions you may run. This is *your* access, not the app's
full shape — somebody with a different role sees a different table, which is the point.

**REST.** The base address, a `curl` line that works as written against an entity you can actually
read, and a link to the app's own OpenAPI document.

**MCP.** Both endpoints, a ready-made `claude mcp add` command, and the same thing as a JSON config
block for a client that takes one. Nothing on the page carries a real key: every snippet has a
placeholder, and the button beside them goes to the one place a credential is ever shown.

**In your browser.** Whether [WebMCP](/mcp/webmcp) is available here, and which tools this app hands
the browser's assistant when it is.

## Two addresses, on purpose

REST and MCP are quoted on different origins, and the page says so when they differ.

| --------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| REST, OpenAPI, the contract | the API origin, for example `https://api.cordango.com` |
| MCP, the server card | your workspace's own hostname, for example `https://acme.cordango.com` |

A workspace hostname serves the application and the public pages; it does not proxy the data API. So
a snippet that quoted the wrong one would fail by returning a page of HTML, which is the hardest kind
of failure to read. Every address on the Connect page is built by the server for exactly this reason,
and it is the same text the CLI and this documentation use.

## Why it exists

Every app has had a REST facade and an OpenAPI document for months. Nothing in the product ever said
so, and the only way to find the address was to read the source. A capability nobody can find is a
capability nobody has.
